Wow... haven't posted anything for a while.
The party has moved through the dungeon, freeing two of the prisoners.
They have cleared room 9, finding a few magic items in the sarcophagi
As they enter into the fresco chamber, 3 dire rats run forward, chomping on Quill. he moves around the rats, to flank one but ends up being flanked himself by two gnome sulks. They slip through the shadows, striking at him with war pick and hand crossbow until Bry moved forward with a sunrod. The sulks were no longer able to hide and the party quickly struck them down.
Got Mirtala out of her shell with the use of insight and diplomacy. She gives the group information on the whereabouts of Sertainian. "She was... uh... up a spiral staircase, around a bunch of corners and uh... down two separate flights of stairs. You're not going to leave me, are you?" She is plainly terrified. She's been shut up in the dim light with the rats terrorizing her and biting on her occasionally. She is also clearly sick from some disease from the rat bites. The party has no choice but to keep her with them. They try to get her to stay with the other 2 rescued outside, but she freaks out without 'her saviors' near her.
The group moves up the spiral stair case and fights a hobgoblin and a drake were guarding the top. After dispatching them, they move to the end of the hallway and stand before a double door.

Eleasis the 5th, year 1479.
The morning after the attack, the town is in shock. Hogoblins, goblins, orcs and ogres had not only attacked the town, but had done so quite successfully. They had breached the walls, killed some citizens and apparently kidnapped 7 others, burnt property and stolen some items from a museum.F
Rumors are running wild as the small, now acquainted group sit and eat their breakfast. After a while, a guard appears and requests the group follow him. Councilmember Eoffram Troyas wishes to meet with them.
Arriving at his office, the half-elven councilman welcomes them and invites them to sit.
He stairs at you a moment, his fingers pressed together in front of him. I have to thank you for your assistance last night. That was a pretty major incursion by the goblinoids, who are making some claim to be the Red Hand returned. We took some damage, but it would have been much worse without your help.
He pauses. "I'll be blunt. I have a problem and I think you may be the solution. But I don't know you. You are new and town and quite frankly, we don't know your motivations."
Your group quickly moves to gain his confidence. You convince him that your goals and his match up well, that you are the right group for what he has in mind. You remember from history that the red hand had attacked 10 years ago. If they are truly back, this could spell the beginning of something major.
He finally nods and stands. We are missing seven people that we know of. Jalissa:
Jalissa is an acolyte of Ioun

Jalissa is an acolyte of Ioun
Sertanian: Sertanian, the castellan of the Hall of Great Valor
Thurann: The 8-year-old son of Kartenix the guard captain
Mirtala: A cook.
Zerriksa: Zerriksa is an elderly woman.
Adronsius: Adronsius the dwarven alchemist
Kartenix: Kartenix the guard captain.
Additionally, some items were stolen that were on display at a museum like location. There were artifacts... relics of the previous red hand battle 10 years ago.
Items stolen from the museum:
Ornate, gilded dragoncrest helm.
Ceremonial platinum longsword; too heavy and blunt to be useful as a weapon.
F Set of three shields with the Red Hand insignia, each with a charred hole near the center
F Set of iron gauntlets with extensive filigree.
F Heraldic battle standard depicting two hands clasped in a handshake.
Major Quest—Rescue
Rescuing the prisoners from Rivenroar amounts to a major quest. The PCs don’t earn the quest XP until the prisoners’ fate has been determined, and those still living returned to Brindol.
Reward: 500 XP (and 200 gp if the prisoners are returned).
Minor Quest—Treasure
Returning the stolen items described in The Treasure to Brindol results in the PCs fulfilling the quest conditions and earning the XP.
Reward: 100 XP (and the 200 gp promised in The Treasure).
If you are wishing to help, we have one hobgoblin we captured. Perhaps you can persuade him to provide additionaly information.

The gentle hubbub of an evening at the Antler and Thistle tavern is shattered by the crack of the front door flying off its hinges to land amid the nearest tables. Four hobgoblins rush into the bar, swords outstretched to skewer the nearest bar patrons. “For Sinruth! For the Hand!” they cry.
A group of four hobgoblins smash into the small tavern, cutting down a couple of the occupants. Craxien draws his bow and drops several of them with a remarkable display of skill with his bow. The others are quickly eliminated.
More hobgoblins enter from the rear door, with a long goblin carrying a surprise! The goblin heaves a flaming torch of some kind behind the bar, which quickly explodes into flame! Fire starts licking along the row of alcohol. The group quickly eliminates this new threat, as the fire continues to spread.
(696 experience earned per character)
Finally, the group pushes out into the night and eliminates the last of the hobgoblins and one more goblin. Flames are spreading faster through the bar. People begin to try to extinguish the fire when around the corner comes a curious site.
A large ogre has a wagon strapped to him, serving as the locomotion. On the wagon are perched two hobgoblin archers. The ogre is holding a large cask, with a lit fuse. This does NOT look good for the home team.
The ogre heaved the cask toward the group and it exploded, sending flames skyward!
The party quickly moved to close the distance. They moved close to prevent the ogre from throwing more casks, but this brought them within range of his massive club. The hobgoblins peppered the party with arrows as the ogre began to lay about him with his massive club. All three melee members fell at some point, leaving only the archer and cleric. The ogre finally dropped as the cleric healed and brought the rest of the party back to the land of the conscious!

Sister Bryseis Neoski
Bry's history is as chaotic as her interests.
As a young child, her parents were constantly bombarded with questions about everything. They tried to feed her desire to learn, but she changed topics so often, they couldn't keep up. Her interests finally led her to the church of Avandra. There, she felt at home.
The priests were all similar to her. They embraced change, adventure and a sense of fun. She studied under them and eventually became a priestess.
She was assigned to a small, dusty church in the middle of a small town. Bored out of her mind after just a year, she left the temple and traveled west. Her travels eventually brought her to the small town of Brindol. Entering the local tavern, she sought a short rest before moving on toward larger areas.
While traveling or adventuring, Bry wears chain mail and carries a mace. But when off duty, she enjoys relaxing and having fun. She's sure the church will eventually call her to action for abandoning her post, but she reasons expecting someone like her to stay in one place too long was a bit foolhardy to begin with.
